Have you heard of Everest University? I recognize the name, and so I was very intrigued when I accepted this piece to look up reviews about this school. I noticed right away that almost half of the students not only enjoyed their time at the school but would recommend it to friends and family. The same percentage of them were able to move on after graduation and find a good career. Public universities often get rated better but not these schools, and so the 3.3 out of 5 stars overall rating isn’t half bad.
Out of 212 student reviews on Grad Reports, there are 39 five star ratings. This school provides students with different diplomas and degrees. I see reviews from students that studied criminal justice, medical billing and coding, business and much more. However, I do see one thing that concerns me right off the bat.
One of reviews in which a student gave the school a one star rating mentions that the school is no longer in existence. I’m not sure if it is still up and running or not, but it would surprise me that such a popular school is no longer in operation. I’m actually seeing the same thing in a second review, however, so it appears that this might be the case.
I just looked back at the last review though and it was from six months after the reviews that read the school was shut down. Maybe the school reopened, or the two students who said that could have been misinformed.
I think they actually closed certain locations at least though because now I’m looking at employee reviews. One employee mentioned serious lawsuits, and the fact that they shut down the Illinois campus. Something must have happened, so my initial good impression of Everest University is out the window. I have mixed feelings now.
