Idaho Requirements to Become a Radiology Tech
1. Graduate from a radiology program at an approved or accredited school in Idaho. Most schools will offer the option of an associates degree and employers will usually have a preference for an associates degree or higher.
2. Currently there is no state licensure requirement in Idaho for radiology techs however registration and/or licensing with the ARRT will provide you with additional verification of your credentials and is nationally recognised.
3. You can obtain certification from the ARRT by taking their exams. If you wish to specialise in nuclear medicine technology you can take the specialist exams set by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB). Exams are administered at Pearson VUE testing centres throughout Idaho.
4. Once you are registered with teh ARRT or NMTCB as a radiology tech you must keep up to date with their continuing professional development requirements.
